Living ordinary yet grateful life

Happiness consists in contentment

What is the meaning of happiness consists in contentment? It means a person is well satisfied about what is happening into his life. I used to think happiness can achieved through good grade, good pay job, a loving partner and never ending successful achievement. But learning more about God has made me know that these will never be enough compared to the true happiness from God. These so call successful achievement may bring happiness, but it will just be a temporary feeling to me. Do I want to spend my whole life chasing up these happiness? Happiness can actually come from just doing a good deed for someone, and be grateful about something in everyday life. I’m happy as long as my family is healthy, as long as I have a proper job, as long as I have someone to love and someone that loved me, and as long as I have food, clothes and shelter.

Moreover, when God gives someone wealth and possessions, and the ability to enjoy them, to accept their lot and be happy in their toil – this is a gift of God. – Ecclesiastes 5:19

These happiness are the gifts from God as God knows what we needed the most and He provides.

For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. – Matthew 6:32-34
